What is Noche de Velázquez ?

Noche de Velázquez is a culturally empowering night of poetry, music and the arts. Setting on intimate spaces that lead to candid discussions about embracing bilingualism as an asset to achieve a better future, Noche de Velázquez is a magical experience.

How does this event help my group?

Noche de Velázquez is more than a cultural gathering. Your group's cohesiveness is enhanced and individual leadership skills are fine tuned by taking pride on staging a successful cultural event. At the same time, you make a difference in the Latino community.

A difference in the community? How so?

You help the community by engaging and inviting high school Latinos to be part of the experience and thrust the idea of college as a viable future. Reversing cultural ambivalence about higher education; serving as role models for young Latinos helps opening the idea and possibility that college is an option.
